 Founding Story

At 24 years old, I was new to New York City and the reality of post-grad life-- or in other words, young, naive and stressed. As a former collegiate athlete, running after work became my favorite way to decompress… Yet run after run, I found myself awkwardly carrying my phone in my hand and stuffing my keys into my socks. I thought to myself that there just had to be a better way. Then one fateful evening I had an idea that would change the trajectory of my life.
Beginning with the North More Short, WOLACO launched a line of functional compression gear that addressed one of the biggest frustrations of the modern athlete.
Armed with just $8K of seed funding and a credit card with a $2K limit, I set out to bring my vision to life.  After months of design, 15 rounds of prototypes and countless hours spent personally testing each one of them, I finally launched with the North Moore Short: An athletic compression short with functional sweat-proof pockets. Today, WOLACO has an entire range of products that are designed to perfectly complement the lives of modern
From humble beginnings to 20,000 units sold in every state and over 40 countries around the world. WOLACO aims to be the next great active apparel brand that’s made in the USA and headquartered in NYC.
