Great compression base layer

"I picked up the shorts and the long version of these as a base layer in white . If you want to wear without shorts this isn’t the one to get. They show everything but they aren’t designed to not have shorts over them. They have tights designed to not have shorts worn without them. They feel great and waistband is insanely comfortable. Feels appropriately snug with out being uncomfortable. I also have REI compression layer which are a little less expensive. These are absolutely more comfortable and material feels better. I’ll probably get more in darker colors. Only suggestion for improvement would be to lower phone pocket. It sits pretty high up on your hip. Since you need to wear short having pocket sit lower would make access easier but it works great and phone doesn’t move at all."

Amazing feel, but watch the seams

"Been running in North Moore's since late 2022, and added another pair in 2024. I'm a bit on the heavier side, but run upwards of 600-700 miles a year. The inner thigh seams have blown out on both pairs of shorts now, I guess due to inner thigh contact. Will likely get 1 or 2 more pairs as I haven't seen anything else that compares, with the pockets for my phone and ID."

Are these just bade layer shorts or can you wear them as shorts by themselves
Hey! They are designed as a base layer but they can also be worn with standalone as the fabric is a bit heavier than other compression shorts on the market. We just recommend dark colors. You may also want to check out our Sprint Half Tight, designed to be worn without an outerlayer.
In the product pictures with the models. What size are they wearing and what inseam length are they wearing as well? I don’t wanna get a 6 in inseam and end up looking like I’m rocking booty shorts
Hey! So if you toggle between the 6" and 9" buttons on the product page the photo should change to show a photo of each inseam length. The black color doesn't seem to be fully working but look at any other color and it should work. All male models are wearing Mediums.
I usually use shorts under boardshorts when swimming. Would these be good for that? I would love to have the secure pockets on the beach
Yes these perform very well in the water and are designed as a base layer. That are heavier than an underwear weight though, just to be aware of.
Those of us big of thigh yet shorter of stature would like these in a shorter inseam! 4", or maybe even 3"? I'd try the women's version (just got an ad for it) but I don't think, ah, everything would fit. Plus I hear short inseams are all the rage. Thanks for your great products, love the two pair of long tights of yours I've got.

I wanna wear them alone with no shorts over them and put my phone in the pockets.. is there enough coverage so someone will not think i am running in my underwear . I am not "modest" but I dont wanna offend anyone .
Hey! the fabric on the North Moore is heavier than what you would find from other brands for compression shorts. Many of our customers wear these without outer shorts. We just recommend the dark colors if you will wear it that way.
